Adam Dayan, Esq.

Adam began his legal career as an associate at a law firm known for its work in the area of special education law, where he represented families whose children had a variety of special needs. Adam moved on from that position in 2009 to pursue his dream of establishing his own law practice, Law Offices of Adam Dayan, PLLC. His law practice is currently based in downtown Manhattan, focusing on representing individuals with a wide range of special needs.

 

In 2020, Adam added Special Needs Trust Planning to his law firm’s services to provide special needs trusts and select estate planning services to help our clients plan for the long-term care of their special needs children.

 

Education
  • Adam graduated from Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where he was a published member of the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law.

  • Prior to that, he graduated summa cum laude from Baruch College where he was a Hertog Scholar and a member of the first graduating class of the Macaulay Honors College.

Adam is an active member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), which strives to protect special education rights and secure excellence in education for children with disabilities. He is a board member of Repertorio Español where he serves on the board's education committee. He is also interested in exploring how other countries around the world are dealing with education and special education issues, and understanding new ways in which our own education system can be improved.

Award-Winning Podcast Host

In 2021, Adam launched a podcast called Curious Incident: A Podcast For Special Needs Families. As host, Adam interviews professionals in the field of special education who can be resources to parents whose children are struggling educationally. Within 3 months of launch, the podcast was named one of the top 25 special education podcasts in the country. The podcast was also named a Positive Change Podcast Award Winner in 2023 in the following categories: Mental Health, Parenting, How To, Self-Help, and Best Newbie.

 

Speaker

Adam Dayan is frequently asked to speak to groups and organizations interested in the rights of special needs children and to discuss special education law for the media, podcasts and webinars.

 

 

Adam Dayan resides with his wife in Manhattan. They share an interest in travel, foreign language, and education. And they are having a blast raising their four wonderful children.
